Island Life is a series of articles and essays that my sister, Maili Bailey, wrote for publication in the Isleboro Island News from 1989 through 1991.  They wonderfully capture the trials, tribulations and joys of life on an island off Maine's rugged coast. 

For convenience I have divided them into sections.  "People" contains articles on individuals and captures the flavor of islanders. "News & Notes" reflects the goings-on of daily life. "Island Life" are general articles of interest  that are more detailed than News & Notes. "Aquaculture" describes the challenges of making a living from the sea.  "Town Meetings" describe what true democracy is all about.  And "Weather Muse" are truly wonderfully written pieces about the weather, nature and much, much  more.....
