The limited access to the mainland is one of the principle attractions to this vacation offering. The Parsonage sleeps six and has three bedrooms upstairs in this old fashion 1910 house with its original woodwork still intact! Things to do on the island? Walk to cobble stone beaches and beaver ponds in the Frenchboro Preserve, read, visit the small library and museum. I promise that you will be amazed by the quiet, the ocean and the land. There are no stores on island, nowhere to drive as there are just a couple of miles of pavement. You can’t really leave the island for a day as the ferry only goes once to the island on ferry day. Ferry schedule is like this: from Bass Harbor on Wednesdays year round is at 9 am and arrives at Frenchboro at 10 am . On Thursdays the ferry leaves Bass Harbor at 12 noon and arrives at Frenchboro at 1 pm . On Sundays the ferry leaves Bass Harbor at 12:15 pm and arrives at 1:15 pm . So, you would for instance come over on a Sunday on the 12:15 and leave the following Sunday at 1:15 . Such is island life!
